Incredible Summer!

Still considering a trip to Walt Disney World this summer? There is still time to experience the fun of Incredible Summer and the Incredible Expo in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park! On the heels of the release of Incredibles 2, guests have the opportunity for fun photo ops, interact in a mini parade of characters and dance with the characters during the afternoon dance parties.
There are multiple photo ops where you become a part of scenes from Incredibles 2, including escaping from the Underminer. And of course, there is a magical surprise in one of the photos that will appear when your photo when posted to Disneys PhotoPass.

Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Edna Mode travel around Tomorrowland in Super Mobiles.  The Super Mobile is manned by a driver that can stop at various points on the route so that guests are able to interact with the characters and snap photos. The parade runs approximately every 15-20 minutes.

And, who doesn’t love a good dance party? Mr. Incredible leads the way with a group of great supporting dancers who interact with the crowd. Mr. Incredible even takes a moment to come down from the stage to interact and dance with the party attendees.
Incredible Summer is scheduled to remain at Magic Kingdom until September 1st.

Great Moments in American History

As a child of the late 70's, I grew up with the "Muppet Show" being appointment television.  I can remember driving my parents crazy with my pull string Oscar the Grouch saying such great things like:

  • "Have a yucky day!"
  • "I live in a trash can"
    • "Be a Grouch like me!"

I was constantly asking them to read me my favorite book, The Monster at the End of This Book: Starring Lovable, Furry Old Grover by Jon Stone. Needless to say, when I first went to Hollywood Studios, it was a must to visit the Muppet*Vision 3D. The Magic Kingdom got into the Muppet act in late 2016 when they added "The Muppets Present Great Moments in American History" in Liberty Square. A must for any Muppet fan spending some time in the Magic Kingdom.

As I have grown up (okay, gotten older), I have developed a greater fascination for the Muppets and Jim Henson's work. The humor that I completely missed as a child still makes the original shows enjoyable to watch. I even loved the "Muppets Tonight" show that aired on Disney Channel in the late 90's.  I still think one of the best episodes of television was when Prince (well the artist formerly known as Prince) hosted.

I think one of the best things about going to Walt Disney World is the unique ability the place has to transfer you to the key moments of your childhood.  It doesn't matter if it is seeing a beloved character and reverting back to your childhood and insisting you get a picture or watching your kids take it all in and build their own memories and experiences. Memories are stored in moments (as we learned in "Inside Out") and being able to bring new memories to tie into your old ones and sharing those with family and friends is a prime reason I continue to go back to Walt Disney World.
